Why Nuwa is attending
IDRC 2025 focuses on AI and immersive solutions for disaster and emergency response. This aligns directly with our work in humanitarian technology. We aim to connect with the disaster risk reduction community, learn from practitioners, and explore collaboration opportunities. The conference theme addresses the application of artificial intelligence and immersive technologies to disaster prediction, training, and preparedness, which directly relates to our simulation platform work.
We plan to engage with researchers and practitioners in disaster risk reduction, learn from organisations deploying AI and immersive technologies for emergency response, and explore validation pathways for training simulation platforms. Identifying partnership opportunities with humanitarian and research organisations remains a priority for us.
Who we want to meet
We are interested in connecting with researchers and academics in disaster risk reduction and emergency management, practitioners and first responders exploring technology for training, and UN agencies and international organisations working on disaster preparedness. Technology developers focused on humanitarian applications will find our work relevant, as will EU project coordinators seeking consortium partners.
What we will be exploring
Our focus at IDRC 2025 includes collaboration opportunities with disaster risk reduction organisations, validation pathways for immersive training platforms in emergency response contexts, applications of AI and XR for disaster preparedness and training, and partnership opportunities with research institutions and humanitarian organisations that share our focus on practical deployment.
